A retired veteran firefighter of 30 years is keeping a close eye on the wildfires plaguing Newfoundland and Labrador in recent weeks.

Scott Tilley spent a significant portion of his career in the middle of similar scenarios as a fire consultant, investigator and fire behaviour specialist. 

He has about 3,000 fire investigations on record over the course of his career.
