A fire ban covering several Newfoundland municipalities will continue into Monday.

The St. John's Regional Fire Department said in a news release Friday that a fire ban in St. John's, Mount Pearl and Paradise will remain in place this weekend. It prohibits open fires and the use of backyard fire pits, chimneys and charcoal barbecues. Propane fire pits and barbecues can still be used.
